Assholes Onair
If you've lived in the tri-state area over the past 6 years and have listened to either Hot 97 or Power 105, you've encountered the Star & Buc Wild Morning Show. "Haters," as they like to call themselves, they're known for tongue-in-cheek, Howard Stern-esque radio. Their blatant disregard for censorship and disrespect for all things is, to me, what makes them hilarious. I love that brand of hardcore comedy, always have.
Same goes for my newly rediscovered love affair with Opie & Anthony, a couple of disrespectful white guys that I find to be h-I-larious!! They're dicks and I LOVE 'em. This love of assholes is nothing new. I'm an asshole (despite my constant ramblings and disclaimers to the contrary), all my friends are assholes, my brother's an asshole. Pretty much anyone who comes into contact with me either is or is on their way to becoming an asshole. Now I'm not using the term "asshole" in the way you may think, there are different brands of "asshole" and I will explain (didn't mean to get into this, but nonetheless, when DON'T I digress, right?).
True Asshole (TA) - The kind of person that is generally NOT nice. Kind of like Steve Stiffler (never knew how to spell that) in the first American Pie. Everyone hates him, but he's everywhere. The things he does are for his own amusement and he's not concerned about who he hurts along the way. His recklessness is what separates him and he hates the other two. (Example: Ari Gold - Pretty much ANY character that Jeremy Piven has played over the last decade or so...even in Chasing Liberty (and yes, I saw that!))
General Asshole (GA)- Generally someone that sees and says everything that comes to mind, usually with comedic intent, for their own pleasure and that of others. It's never meant to hurt anyone, as the truth rarely is. These guys are the ones you love to have around but often question your sanity when you're with them. They walk the fine line between being a general asshole and a true asshole and needs others like them to keep the a)in practice and b)out of the hospital. Most of the people I know are in this category. They're around to say all the things everyone is thinking. Pretty fun, too. (Example - You, and your circle of friends if you've read more than one of my blog entries and appreciated what I has to say)
Asshole's Asshole (AA) - These are assholes that are LOVED by...well, assholes. Their brand of comedy is meant more for the public and isn't appreciated by everyone but gets delivered regardless. This is the category people like Opie and Anthony, Star & Buc Wild, Dane Cook, Dave Chappelle and Bill Burr fall into. The fundamental reason they are SO funny is because everything they say is SO true and universal. It's like toilet humor. An average comedian would say something like, "don't you hate when you can't poop," but Dane Cook, an asshole's asshole, would say "last week I got the itchiest asshole of my life and I keep a log of my itchy assholes." See that? HILARIOUS!! These guys are appreciated because they allow GA's to laugh at someone else's jokes and give them a break from being the center of attention. These guys are LOVED by most any...Except the True Asshole, of course, cuz they know they're not immune to being the butt of an AA's joke.
So on to the point of the blog (as an A.D.D. side note: I have NO idea where I come up with these breakdowns...maybe I'm meant to be a teacher or somethin', they just pop to mind). They've taken down Star of Star & Buc Wild for doin' what he does. It's nothing new, he and Buc were fired from Hot 97 a while back and got picked up by Power 105. And he's crossed the line there, as written in the letter of explanation here. Because Star was employed by Clear Channel, an f'n entertainment media CONGLOMERATE, he can pretty much hang up any further chances of hittin' the airwaves.
This point brings me to my conspiracy theory (and I'm a GA, so note I said it first): I think he got fired on purpose. Why, oh reader, do you ask? So he can make the move to satellite, which has become a haven for no-longer-radio-friendly personalities with a strong, subsriber-drawing fan base. There it is, that's what I think. I think Star purposely got fired to get out of his contractual obligation so he could move on to satellite without a fight. He perfected the Howard Stern move. I guarantee you that within 3 months, right around when Oprah hits the air, Star is gonna have a block on XM202 - High Voltage, RIGHT after Opie and Anthony, WATCH. Bookmark this page so when my prediction come the be true, you can say "JustTrina called it and dammit, she was RIGHT!!" I may even put a PayPal icon up here for people to donate funds for my AWESOME banter!! :-P
