Legacy
Okay, WHAT the hell is going on with my dad's side of the family nowadays!?!
First off, my cousin Raechelle goes to the hospital cuz she dislocated her jaw in her sleep. Then, my grandmother's sister, whom we call "Aunt Maye," had a stroke. My grandmother's brother's wife died. And now, Raechelle's father, my uncle Raymond, is in the hospital, he had a stroke. Now, I know things happen in 3's, but DAMN, this week has been real serious.
So I was telling La'Keyia about all the sickness and death goin' on in our family when a thought popped to mind: Where's the legacy of my family headed? I mean, there aren't many men in the family and the women in my generation really aren't down to have children. Hell, I told my dad my brother would be married with children before me. He believes in that whole institution. I want to have kids, of course, but the marriage part is REAL iffy.
The thing with life is that you truly never know WHAT to expect and you're stuck waiting. Now, with all these people being sick, I'm just waiting for the ball to drop. My grandmother's sick, I'm waiting to hear news on that. My dad is also driving out to Springfield for uncle Bryant's wife's funeral, so I'm freaked out about that.
There's just a lot of crap going on and I know I can't handle another funeral right now, no matter whose it may be. Maybe I should go out there and have a kid, to ensure my family's legacy...
